About Krissi
The story behind the bread
Growing up in Germany, some of my earliest memories are of my grandmother's kitchen — the warmth of the oven, the smell of fresh Bauernbrot cooling on the counter, and the satisfying crack of a perfectly baked crust. Baking wasn't just cooking; it was how we showed love.
When I moved to the United States, I found myself missing the dense, flavorful breads and simple cakes I grew up with. I couldn't find them anywhere, so I started baking them myself — first for family, then for friends, and eventually for neighbors who kept asking for more.
Krissi's Streusel & Crust was born from that love of sharing. Every loaf, every pretzel, every mini cake is made by hand using traditional German techniques and the best ingredients I can source. No shortcuts, no preservatives — just honest baking the way it's been done for generations.
I'm so grateful to be part of our local farmers market community. There's nothing better than handing someone a warm loaf of bread and seeing their face light up. Thank you for supporting a small, handmade business — it means the world to me.
